OBEDIENCE

Four stages of six week group classes are provided:

Stage One

For puppies under 4 1/2 months - Small groups of puppies come with their 'families' to socialise and learn how to interact sensibly through play and training when they are at their most receptive. See below for exercises taught.

For older puppies and adult dogs - Emphasis is on 'good manners' for pet dogs which is the starting point for all dogs, even if they wish to go on to higher education for competition.

Exercises include: Walking on a loose lead. Staying when told. Handling and grooming. Coming when asked. Instant stop. Hand-signals. Retrieve. Proper greeting behaviour amongst others..

Stage Two

This continues where we finished in stage one, adding more control especially around distractions. The principals of targetting are introduced.

Stage Three

This allows for more advanced control and involves mostly off-lead work leading to exercises for competition.

Stage Four

For the budding enthusiasts who want to learn more theory as well as gain further handling experience. Fun and games leads to display team training.

AGILITY

Three levels of five week group classes are provided (private lessons also available) and dogs should have completed a basic (stage one obedience) course before joining.

All obstacles are taught for pet fun and fitness and include: Dog Walk, A-Frame, Tunnels, Weaving Poles, Long Jump, Walls, Wishing-Well, Water-Jump, Hurdles and many more.

The classes are taught at three levels - Beginner - Intermediate - Competition - in either groups or through private lessons. FLYBALL can also be included in the agility sessions if requested.
